I'm here with my fat baby and very happy to see her but I have to say that alcohol is a very bad thing. I know drinking alcohol makes me depressed when I'm on this medication but what do I do when my mom takes me to a liquor store and they have this organic ale I've only seen at Sublime before? So, I drink it, I don't think rationally, and I write Eric an email. Not cursing him out or anything, but I really shouldn't have sent it. I realized this a few hours later as I sobered up at dinner. Must stay away from alcohol...going to be hard with all the beer Noelle keeps in the fridge.
I had bharta for the second night in a row. I'm kind of getting tired of it now. I had it for breakfast this morning before going to the airport too. No more bharta for a while. I met Ben and this woman he's dating for dinner. Heidi is very nice and seems like she's going to be good for Ben. I hope it works out for them. After dinner we saw the Enron movie. It was really interesting, although I can't say I completely understand it all.
I borrowed one of Noelle's books to read on the plane--"The Art of Worldly Wisdom." It isn't what I thought it would be. Noelle said it was Daoist, but I found it to be pretty much like Machiavelli's "The Prince." All about how to gain power over your enemy. Not exactly the kind of self-help book I was looking for. Harry Potter's coming out tomorrow though. Shaun said he reserved a copy. I wonder if I needed to reserve one. What if it's sold out already?
The flight from Miami was interesting. I was sitting in first class and the guy across the aisle was Al from payroll in Cincinnati. It was nice to see him again. But poor Al was sitting next to this incredibly obnoxious guy. This guy talked on the phone (and you know it's like $5 a minute to call from the plane) the entire 2 1/2 hours of the flight. He was so loud that someone even went to the flight attendant to complain. I just wanted to relax and instead I was subject to hearing his conversations with about twenty different people. Yes, as soon as he'd finish talking to one person, he'd call another. He went on and on for a long time about how he'd gone into some cell phone store and how angry he was that they called him by his first name instead of Mr. So-and-So. He thought that was really rude. Then for a while he was talking to someone and obviously had a bad connection because he kept yelling, "Can you hear me? Can you hear me?" Apparently, the other person wanted to hang up because of the bad connection but this guy shouted, "I'm the one paying for this call--I'll decide when the conversation ends!" When the flight attendant passed by and asked us if we needed anything, the woman next to me said "earplugs."
At first, I was really annoyed at this guy. I just wanted to read in peace. Eventually, however, the situation became comical. I guess rude people were put on this earth for a reason--so I can have stories like these to tell!
